The ‘HEADstart’ route into the PwC Experience is for those that don’t have a degree, but do have a minimum of 280 UCAS points or equivalent. You can join the HEADstart route as a ‘generalist’ or a ’specialist’. Generalists will join our Assurance service line. You can find out more about Assurance by watching our ‘What we Do Video’ on our website. Technical training focused on obtaining a chartered accountancy qualification, with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and could lead to a recognised degree with Oxford Brookes University.

In terms of exposure to the firm it will be the same as those joining our graduate generalist route. The only difference being that these will be on offer a little later in your career. So what about exposure to the firm? Well, the fact that you have undertaken the ACCA opens doors to many areas of our business, allowing you to experience new challenges and gain a real breadth of expertise. That’s not to say that some of our students don’t decide to stay where they started. It’s all about having as many opportunities as possible to broaden your knowledge and develop a wide range of skills our clients really value.

Specialists will join our Tax service line. You can find out more about Tax by watching our ‘What we Do Video’ on our website. In this route you’ll start off with some work experience, moving on to obtain a professional qualification with the Association of Tax Technicians (ATT). Further down the line you could find yourself moving on to qualify with the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CTA). So what about exposure to the firm? Well, those joining the specialist route tend to look for opportunities within the firm that enhance their depth of knowledge, those that will make them real experts in their field. That’s not to say though that some don’t move further a field, taking the opportunity to try out something completely new. We believe that both of these are exciting opportunities and offer a unique experience that allows you to really develop a breadth of knowledge that is of real value to our clients.
