This course of A Level standard can lead directly to employment in social care with adults and young people. It aims to develop the interpersonal, practical, theoretical skills and knowledge essential for working in social care in a wide variety of contexts. It also provides entry requirements for Higher Education. The 12 units National Certificate equivalent to 2 A Levels is also available.
Entry Requirements
Five GCSEs at grade C or above including English at grade C, or equivalent (for example BTEC First Diploma in Health and Social Care at merit level). All applicants are required to bring a personal reference. All health and social care students will be required to have a Criminal Records Bureau check; there will be a charge for this.
