Is this course for me?
This course provides an introduction to the skills and knowledge you will need for working in Health or Social Care settings. You will develop an understanding of the needs of individuals and how they grow and develop.
What is the course content?
This course consists of the following eight units: Starting Work in Health & Social Care, Working in Health & Social Care, Developing Skills in Health & Social Care, Personal Effectiveness, Financial Management, Images of People, Health & the Environment and Looking after Children.
How is the course run?
Full-time for one year from September to June.
How will I be assessed?
Assignments will be assessed throughout the year.
What qualifications do I need?
A minimum of two GCSEs (E or above) or Entry Level 3 Certificates, school report and a clear CRB. Plus a successful interview.
Where will this course lead me?
With a merit grade onto the First Diploma in Health & Social Care or Level 2 Diploma in Child Care and Education.
Anything else I need to know?
Your skills in communication, problem solving and time management should develop as a result of studying this course.
