Apprenticeships; a clear choice

The world is changing fast and to get ahead these days you need the right skills, but you don’t need to sit in a classroom all day to get them. An Apprenticeship is a paid job with training. It gives young people the opportunity to earn while they learn, gaining a variety of skills while working towards nationally recognised qualifications. Apprenticeships are increasingly known as the gold standard for work-based learning.

There are three levels:

  • Intermediate Apprenticeship (Level 2)
  • Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3)
  • Higher Apprenticeship (Level 4 and above)

There are around 250 types of apprenticeships suitable for over 1,200 job roles, in a range of industry sectors, frommarketing, to accountancy, veterinary nursing, electric and vehicle engineering. Apprenticeships can take between one and four years to complete depending on the level of Apprenticeship, the apprentice’s ability and the industry sector.
