22 year old Quantity Surveyor Patrick Kerrigan is one of Lambeth College’s most amazing students. Not only is Patrick spending one-day a week at Lambeth College working towards his Construction level 3 BTEC National Certificate, but he spends his evening studying an NVQ in Construction and Operational Skills in Quantity Surveying, a degree course in Quantity Surveying and he also works as an apprentice for the rest of the week at Pan Interiors, who specialise in dry line plastering and suspended ceilings.
Patrick’s tutor at the college Brian Marshall, was so impressed with Patrick that he nominated him for the 2011 VQ (Vocational Qualification) Learner of the Year Awards.
Brian says: “Patrick is an outstanding student who works extremely hard and is on-course to complete his course at the end of this year with straight distinction grades. He has in-depth knowledge of his chosen profession and this shows in his assignments, which are always detailed and relevant to the topics covered. He fully deserves to win this award.”
Patrick says: “I’m delighted to have been nominated by the College. It shows me that I’m appreciated and valued as a student. I hope to win it and if I do I will dedicate it to my brilliant tutor Brian. He has taught me so much over the past year and I’ll be eternally grateful.
