Kerry Payton started studying online in 2009 at the age of 18 and completed a Foundation degree in Business and Management at the beginning of 2012. She has now progressed on to a University of Essex Online programme to study for a Bachelors degree in Business and Management.
“When I left sixth form, most of my friends were planning to leave home and study for a degree full time but I wanted to work and didn’t want to be burdened with the debt of a traditional university education. I got a job as a business administrator and really enjoyed the work that I was doing.”
“I wanted to keep up with my peers and be able to develop my career so I decided to search online for an alternative route to study for a degree. I wanted to complete my degree in a similar time frame to a traditional degree course so I have been studying for two modules at a time which is hard work but well worth the effort.”
