ICAEWs national business game competition, BASE is open to all students aged 16-19. This fun, engaging and thought-provoking experience is designed to enhance students understanding of accountancy, finance and business; and provide students with the opportunity to explore the accountancy profession.
In teams of six, students take on the role of an ICAEW Chartered Accountant and are asked to analyse a business case to assess the challenges and identify solutions. Each team presents their recommendations to a panel of judges in the hope that their advice will enable them to win the regional heat and secure a place at the national final in Birmingham on the 27 June 2013.
Why take part in BASE:
Taking part in BASE offers a number of benefits:
- You will gain a better understanding about accountancy, finance and business and discover what a career as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant can offer.
- You will get the opportunity to demonstrate, practice and improve key employability skills required by employers, including team working, communication and problem solving skills.
- You will meet and network with potential employers during the career exhibition; you can find out what it's like to be an ICAEW Chartered Accountant, discover which route to becoming an ICAEW Chartered Accountant is best for you and what training opportunities are available in your local area.
