The BTEC Level 2 has been designed to
provide students with a breadth of engineering opportunities to
enable students to progress on to any number of engineering
specialisms or occupational areas. The qualification consists
of four core units and six specialised units. The core units are
designed to introduce students to the chosen qualification
area and provide the formative knowledge and understanding
needed to underpin the content of the specialist units. The
specialist units provide the skills, knowledge and understanding
within specific aspects of the engineering industry.
The subjects covered will include:
• Selecting Engineering Materials
• Secondary Machining Technique
• Casting and Moulding Processes
• Computer Aided Drawing
• Production Planning Techniques
In addition to the core and specialist units students will be
studying key skills at the appropriate level.
