Content

: This is a part-time in-service course for teachers/trainers currently working in the Lifelong Learning Sector. It has been planned to meet the professional needs of teachers in further and adult education and training institutions as well as the general professional standards laid down by LLUK. The course has been planned to take account of the current changes in teacher training by practitioners closely involved in these developments. The broad aim of the course is to enhance knowledge skills and professional attributes through a taught programme and learning experiences. The emphasis in Year 1 is preparation for competent classroom delivery. In Year 2 you will focus on the broader professional context of lifelong learning. The programme enables you to become an effective and critical practitioner through the development of a range of professional skills and theoretical perspectives. All programme members will be encouraged to develop ICT and resource-based learning skills. Course content: Introduction to learning and teaching Planning and assessing for learning Theory in professional practice Professional development Curriculum studies Professional investigation

Entry Requirements

: You will be expected to hold relevant academic vocational or professional qualifications and experience; some applicants will be graduates. You must have evidence of on-course paid teaching for a minimum of 75 hours in the first year and a further 75 paid hours in the second year. Teaching placements will not be provided. You need to have an identified mentor from your place of work. You will also be required to provide a recent enhanced CRB disclosure.
