: About the course: This course covers the theory and practice of child care from birth to 16 years. It provides an opportunity to gain knowledge and practical training in child care at an intermediate level. Work experience on the course includes a 2 week block placement each term in day nurseries and schools. Course content: Introduction to working with children The developing child Safe healthy and nurturing environments for children Children and play Communication and professional skills within childcare and education The childcare practitioner in the work place Supporting children with additional needs After this course: Progression to level 3 qualification an Apprenticeship or employment.Entry Requirements
: You must be aged 16-18. Students need to have 4 GCSE passes (Grades A* - E). If you have not achieved a grade D or above in English or Maths you need a level 1 pass in the initial College assessment. Please note: You must provide the evidence required to apply for an enhanced CRB check. You will be given more information about this when you apply for the course.Course Code
