This a 1 year course which provides an opportunity to engage in learning that is relevant to children and will provide opportunities to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for successful perfomance in working life. Students will study a number of units which are aimed to develop their interests and gain a broad foundation of caring for children.


Entry requirements: 

Have an interest in working with children and seeking to develop greater independence. Successful interview with College staff.


Assessment: 

Assessment takes place through: Assignments, presentations, projects and professional discussion


Qualifications: 

BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Caring for Children


Progression: 

Supported employment, independent living, BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Children’s Care Learning and Development
