Retail covers businesses such as well known national chain stores, superstores, independant shops and market stalls. This apprenticeship teaches the skills required in this sector.The skills gained from the Retail Apprenticeship are transferable to all retail companies. The retail sector can be vibrant and offers many career opportunities. Content Depending on your employer, your role could include assisting customers on a shop floor and handling their purchases, or you could be placed in a specialist department focusing on particular products which you could then use to help with specific queries. There are also roles in retailing which require work behind the scenes such as stock handling and ensuring correct quantities of products are appropriately stored. Features/Benefits The Apprenticeship programme will provide the learner with a diverse range of skills to support working in a retail environment. Units can include the following: Organise the receipt and storage of goods in a retail environment Audit stock levels and stock inventories in a retail environment Source required goods and services in a retail environment Follow guidelines for planning and preparing visual merchandising displays Process payments for purchases in a retail environment Develop productive relationships with colleagues and customers Entry Requirements No formal requirements but an ability to work towards a Level 2 qualification. You should also have a previous good attendance and punctuality record. Progression Opportunities Advanced Apprenticeship in one of the following chosen pathways: -Sales professional -Management -Visual Merchandising
