What's it all about?
This qualification is about working in a retail environment. You will find it appropriate if you are already competent in a significant variety of retail work activities. For example: senior sales assistants team leaders supervisors and manager.Course Progression:
On successful completion you may progress to the NVQ Level 5 in Management offered at the College.Are there any exams?
There is no exam. However, you will need to collect a variety of evidence such as statements, observations and testimonies to build a portfolio. All of this will be under the guidance of an assessor. Once the criteria for each unit have been met, the unit will be signed off as competent. It is a requirement of enrolment that you submit work, contact or meet with your assessor at least once a month in order to avoid being withdrawn. Before enrolling you need to consider this point carefully in order to be sure that you are able to commit to participating on this basis.What does this course involve?
This pathway is in the area of sales professional, however, other pathways are also available in management and visual merchandising. To achieve the full award, you must complete 43 credits (selection show below) which can be selected in accordance to your specific job role. Mandatory Credit Work effectively in your retail organisation. Additional Credits Organise the receipt and storage of goods in a retail environment. Audit stock levels and stock inventories in a retail environment. Source required goods and services in a retail environment. Monitor and help improve food safety in a retail environment. Process part exchange sales transactions in a retail environment. Maintain the availability of goods for sale to customers in a retail environment. Provide specialist support in helping customers to make purchases in a retail environment. Enable customers to apply for credit and hire purchase facilities. Develop individual retail service opportunities. Provide a personalised sales and after-sales service to your retail clients. Assist customers to obtain appropriate insurance. Organise the delivery of reliable customer service. Improve the customer relationship. Work with others to improve customer service. Monitor and solve customer service problems. Promote continuous improvement in customer service. Help to manage a retail team. Help to monitor and maintain the security of the retail unit. Plan, monitor and adjust staffing levels and schedules in a retail environment. Monitor and evaluate the quality of service provided by external suppliers to your customers.Course Requirements:
