Is this course for me?
This course is suitable for those with an interest in Electronics and Computer Servicing and wishing to become a qualified engineer. It is also of benefit if you are interested in becoming a Network Systems Engineer.
What will I study?
This practical course covers electronic and computer servicing. You will learn how a PC works and build one from components. You will also learn how to upgrade and repair a PC. Programming skills for use in industry and core Electronic skills are covered too.
These are the compulsory subjects:
Maths and Science for Engineers; Electronic Construction; Working Practices; Electronic Principles; Electronic Components and how they work; PC upgrade/repair and programming.
What are the entry requirements?
You must have GCSEs in Maths and English at grade D or equivalent.
What can I do next?
You can progress onto the BTEC National Diploma in Communication Technology.

Network Engineer; Electronic Service Engineer; Computer Systems Engineer; Specialist Service Engineer.
How will I be assessed?
Your coursework will be assessed by building a Portfolio of evidence and by Observation in class.
