Our Generic Teacher Training courses are suitable for applicants wishing to teach any subject which does not require a subject specialist diploma (subject specialisms are required for those wishing to teach Numeracy, Literacy and ESOL.) Unless otherwise stated, a course is considered generic. Year 2 DTLLS represents the final year of the two years it takes to become fully qualified to teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector, i.e. Further Education, adult and community education, work-based learning and the voluntary sector, provided that candidates are qualified in the subject they wish to teach. The courset conforms to the new Government standards for teacher training. Content includes professional development and course/curriculum design. Successful completion of the full two year diploma will entitle candidates to apply for QTLS (Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills) status.
