.

As an ICAEW Chartered Accountant there are a wide variety of career choices. You could work in banking, fashion or even for your favourite football club...

How to become an ICAEW Chartered Accountant

You need to complete the ACA qualification and become a member of ICAEW. You can then use the internationally recognised letters ACA after your name and call yourself an ICAEW Chartered Accountant.

The ACA is a professional qualification which gives you the opportunity to learn while in full time employment. It usually takes between three and five years to complete and combines technical knowledge, professional skills and practical experience. On-the-job experience is a key component of ACA training, meaning not only will you achieve a world leading professional qualification, you'll earn a competitive salary too!

Your route to a highly rewarding career

There are several ways to qualify as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant, either after leaving school or university.

Straight from school - organisations offer school leaver programmes so you can get started after you've completed your A-levels.

AAT-ACA Fast Track - qualify as an Accounting Technician and fast track to the ACA, completing both qualifications in as little as four years.

ICAEW Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (CFAB) - CFAB provides a great introduction to accountancy, finance and business and is a stepping stone to the ACA qualification.

University - you don't have to do a business or accountancy related degree. We also have a number of strategic partnership programmes that will help you achieve a degree and the ACA qualification.
