Get ahead: Choose the only way to be a lawyer without university debt

2011-08-05 10:16:06

Becoming a lawyer through the Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX) is the most affordable route into law. Not only will you become a member of one of the most respected legal organisations in the country, you’ll also earn money as you learn and you might even get your employer to pay your fees.

On average 75% of employers pay for their staff to study at ILEX, which means you can achieve a career in law with little or no debt. ILEX qualifications only cost up to £7,000 which includes all exam and studying fees, and is spread over your chosen length of study.

Kate Smith, 21, is already making the most of that. She tells us: “ILEX studies can be hard, as you’d expect, but I’m a valued member of the team and my studies are funded by my employer.” That means students can afford to run a car or save for a deposit on a house.

ILEX courses are usually studied full-time over two years or part-time for four years. Once you’ve graduated we invite you to an official graduation ceremony, so your relatives can come along and show you how proud they are of you.

When you graduate you can expect to earn up to around £55,000+ and could go on to become a partner in a law firm, be an advocate and represent your clients in court, or even become a judge.

ILEX courses are offered at 90 centres and further education colleges, or by distance learning. So you can choose when and how you study, and at a pace to suit you. Already over 85,000 people have chosen ILEX for their career - why don’t you become one of them?
