Hilton Worldwide launches major recruitment drive
2012-04-16 18:51:05
Working with the National Apprenticeship Service, hotel chain Hilton Worldwide will shortly be launching a new programme offering 100 new apprenticeships for hospitality and hotel operations. This is in addition to Hilton's established Chef Apprenticeship Academy, which has, to date, trained 60 chefs.
The new apprenticeships will be available from management roles down to entry-level positions in functions as varied as catering, barkeeping, hotel management and engineers.
Ben Bengougam, vice-president HR, Europe, Hilton Worldwide, says the company is looking for people with a passion for delivering excellent customer service, together with a good work ethic. "In return," he says, "we provide a fun, exciting, varied and supportive environment to prosper and grow, offering world-class training and development programmes to enable our people to fulfil their potential."
Chris Grayling, Minister for Employment, welcomes the initiative: "Youth unemployment is my biggest priority in government and I have asked business to join us in giving real opportunities to young people," he says. "Hilton Worldwide is a great example of what businesses can do by offering jobs, apprenticeships and key skills for people trying to find work."
Hilton Worldwide plans to open 18 new hotels in the UK, creating 1,500 jobs within the next three years.
