EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING DAY FOR NORTH KENSINGTON
2012-04-27 13:34:22
Residents of North Kensington are being urged to take advantage of a special Employment and Training Day being hosted at Kensington and Chelsea College
The event will be an opportunity for local people to sign up for a pre-apprenticeship programme offering construction apprenticeships to five young people under 24 years old who successfully complete the 4-week course.
There will also be information about local construction jobs and apprenticeship opportunities through the Wornington Green Development, as well as information on how to put your name forward for vacancies.
For those new to construction, there will be details of construction courses run by the college, including help to get the CSCS safety card needed by employees to work on construction sites.
The event is being organised by Catalyst Gateway, the charitable community investment arm of Catalyst Housing, Ardmore Construction Ltd, the main contractor for Wornington Green, and Kensington and Chelsea College.
It takes place on Thursday 17 May, from 2pm to 6pm, at the college’s Wornington Road centre.
The college offers a wide range of Apprenticeships, with particular focus on the Housing Sectors, and works in partnership with Catalyst HousinG
At present KCC has 63 apprentices working with 17 employers, and has developed its apprenticeship programme in partnership with employers and relevant industry related bodies.
