What Will I do? The City and Guilds Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) syllabus at Level 3. The qualification is designed as a stepping stone into the current set of teacher training qualifications. It provides an introduction into the principles of teaching and learning. The course is aimed at those who are involved or want to become involved in the delivery of learning and are seeking to improve/formalise their skills.

What qualifications will I get? City and Guilds Level 3 teaching certificate.

How will I be assessed? A variety of assessment methods are used but most work is through assignments. Assignments are both theoretical and practical and include a 30 minute assessed micro teaching session.

What else do I need to know? The course you will undertake is very student centred and utilises a variety of teaching approaches and methods which will appeal to all learner styles. You will be supported with regular tutorials.

What can I do after this course? You could go on to complete the City and Guilds Certificate or Diploma in the Lifelong Learning Sector. The PTLLS certificate will credit you with the first mandatory module of both of these additional qualifications.

What modules are covered? Working in a team

What is the entry process? Application and successful interview.

What are the entry requirements? Reasonable literacy skills i.e. to be able to read and interpret written tasks, and write answers in a legible form. Candidates will also need to be able to organise written information clearly and coherently.
