It’s an exciting time to be joining Electricity North West. We believe in starting off careers in engineering, as much as we do in developing them. That’s why we’ve created our Professional Engineering A Level/ONC entry level Programme. As part of that Programme, you’ll be able to use you’re educational achievements to open the door to gaining a valuable HNC qualification in Electrical Engineering. We’ll pay for your study and provide you with paid time off to attend College. And we’re fully committed to helping you achieve. During the Programme, which lasts up to 3 years, you’ll receive training designed to broaden your skills and give you the knowledge and experience you need to be not only an Engineer, but also a leader of the future – helping your career develop even further. Ultimately, on completion of the Programme, you’ll be an engineer involved in the maintenance, repair, design, planning and ongoing replacement of overhead power lines, underground cables and substations.
To apply you’ll need any of the following:
- 2 A-Levels Grades A* - C (1 must be in either Maths or Physics) or
- ONC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
You’ll also need:
- Self-motivation with good organisational skills
- The drive to take control of your own development
- The ability to work independently or as part of a team
- A practical nature with good attention to detail
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- IT literacy, with a good understanding of Microsoft Office
