CILEx Law School

CILEx Law School offers vocational courses in law.  Our courses lead to qualifications awarded by the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) and are widely recognised in the legal profession.

Most people only hear about the training route to become a solicitor, which involves studying for a degree, but there are many roles in law firms that don’t require you to be a qualified solicitor.

The CILEx qualifications give you lots of choice. You can study for a ‘starter’ qualification -  the CILEx Level 3 Certificate in Law and Practice - and see how you go. If you discover you’ve got an aptitude for legal study, you can continue right through to become a Chartered Legal Executive, which means you could become a partner in a law firm or even a judge! Fully qualified Chartered Legal Executives are senior members of staff who do the same work as solicitors.

Many people use the CILEx Level 3 Certificate to show prospective employers that they are committed to a career in law; others secure a job first as a paralegal or legal administrator and then use the CILEx qualifications to develop their careers and gain promotion.

CILEx Law School delivers courses for all CILEx qualifications by supported distance learning. This doesn’t mean that you are on your own. Our structured courses give you the framework you need to progress through the course resources, including an academic team to support you, face-to-face sessions for induction and revision, webcasts, printed and online course materials and study exercises.

You can enrol with CILEx Law School at any time of the year, so you can start working towards your career in law straight away.

We are also a leading provider of legal apprenticeships, where young people are employed to follow CILEx qualifications within the context of a formal apprenticeship scheme. See current vacancies with our client organisations in our listings.
