Icon (the Institute of Conservation) is the UK's professional body for conservators and conservation professionals. As a registered charity and membership organisation, we work to protect, preserve and promote cultural heritage by supporting the people who care for it.

We champion high standards, ethics and professional development across the conservation sector, helping to ensure that collections, historic buildings, objects and archives can be cared for by skilled and knowledgeable professionals.

With a membership of almost 2,500 individuals and organisations, Icon brings together conservators from every specialism alongside conservation scientists, educators, students and others with an interest in heritage conservation. Our members play an active role in shaping the organisation and delivering services, events and initiatives that support the profession.
