The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) is a professional body for those involved in personnel, training and development. CIPD Membership


When you register on a CIPD course with ICS you will be required to obtain a membership with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, via their online registration facility.

The CIPD Membership is designed to help you achieve the highest level of professionalism and effectiveness throughout your career. This will be a valuable asset in your professional life and will ensure that you get the recognition you deserve and keep you ahead of your peers.
 

The Levels of CIPD membership:


Affiliate: a basic level of membership, not assessed against professional standards
Associate: awarded on completion of a support level certificate or relevant NVQ Level 3 and 4
Licentiate: awarded on completion of at least one of the first three fields of the Practitioner-level professional standards, and also on completion of relevant MBAs and NVQs (Level 5).
Graduate: awarded on completion of all fields of the Practitioner-level professional standards, but where no significant HR experience is held.



Chartered Grades of Membership


Chartered Member (Chartered MCIPD)
Awarded on request to graduate members that have three years' relevant managerial experience. Or a non-graduate member assessed against the professional standards after five years' relevant experience.

Chartered Fellow (Chartered FCIPD)
An upgrade from Chartered MCIPD, applicants must have at least 10 years relevant experience.

Chartered Companion (Chartered CCIPD)
By invitation only, awarded in recognition of contributions to the profession or the Institute.
