Stephen Power is the BPIF training co-ordinator for the West Midlands area. Steve started his career as a young apprentice within the printing industry and at that time was supported by a BPIF training co-ordinator.
With the BPIF’s support Steve was able to work his way up from apprentice to number one printer, then on to team leader and finally he trained up within the continuous improvement team addressing issues and techniques to make the company leaner and more cost effective.
Steve accumulated various experience in different print processes before achieving his D32/33 (Assessor) qualification, all of which provided solid foundations to begin passing on his knowledge to the next generation of printers. This opened the door for a return to BPIF, where Steve has been now since 2014.
Steve possesses an invaluable understanding of and passion for the apprenticeship system, due to his background he is very relatable to his candidates and a shining example of how apprenticeships can help you to get in and go far.
