BIMM is thrilled to announce that they are opening their 7th music college in Birmingham - the UK’s fastest growing music city!

In October 2017 a brand new, state-of-the-art college will open in Digbeth - the ‘Shoreditch of Birmingham’ and creative hub of the Midlands.

BIMM pride themselves on being based in the cities where music matters most and when it comes to the evolution of modern music, the city of Birmingham is firmly cemented in the history books. Not only is it well known as the birthplace of heavy metal, but the city’s acceptance of musical diversity has led to it being instrumental in the creation of other musical genres, such as bhangra, British soul, grindcore, Brumbeat and, more recently, B-Town.

BIMM will be investing £4M in the new Birmingham college and will employ 50+ local music professionals. As with all our other colleges, BIMM Birmingham looks forward to welcoming hundreds of talented students who will be guided and inspired by our highly respected industry professionals with years of experience in the music business.

BIMM Birmingham will offer courses in Professional Musicianship - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Vocals and Songwriting, as well as Music Production and Music Business. All of these will be BA Honours Degree Courses and validated by the University of Sussex, who are in the top 1% of global universities and ranked in the top 20 of UK universities.

Dara Kilkenny - Executive Principal for BIMM Manchester and Dublin - will take on the same role for Birmingham:

"Having been with BIMM since 2010, it’s been my privilege to have helped many creative individuals embark on their careers. Numerous times I’ve thought how lucky I am to have earned a living doing something that I Iove. I hope this will be the case for every BIMM Birmingham graduate, because if it’s a creative, successful and sustainable career in the music industry you’re after, there really is no better place to be!"

Like the other campuses, students will be immersed in the music industry, taught by current music professionals who will bring real, current experience directly into the classroom along with an impressive list of Masterclass guests.
