MetFilm School courses are highly practical because we believe the best way to learn to make films is to make films. Through a combination of masterclasses, workshops and self-directed learning, your skills will be applied across a wide range of practical exercises.

By putting industry at the heart of everything we do, MetFilm School best equips its graduates for successful careers. We are incredibly proud of our inspirational role model tutors, all of which are industry practitioners; either working in or come from a film or television background, meaning you will be taught by people who know the film and television world, inside out.
BA Screen Acting course leader, Justin Trefgarne is an Emmy-nominated writer, director and producer. Having previously worked for famous filmmaker Neil Jordan before joining production house, Working Title. His experience includes working in film, television, advertising and branded content.
Screenwriter and script consultant, John Gilbert and director, writer and producer Steve Rehman lead the BA Practical Filmmaking course. Between them, they have over thirty years' experience within their fields and are on hand to share their knowledge, develop your talents and steer you towards your future career.

Our facilities include a variety of shooting spaces, classrooms and studios. Depending on the course, students may also have access to our sound stage, screening rooms and state-of-the-art postproduction theatres.
Our Production Facilities Team offers a range of camera, lighting and sound equipment to support student projects. Experienced industry tutors and advisors help students select the most appropriate resources across a variety of platforms, including film, television and new media.
MetFilm School London has an exclusive partnership with Procam and Take 2. From this, students benefit from having access to a selection of high-spec kit, such as the latest ARRI and Sony camera technology and lenses, as well as the latest lighting equipment and camera support, such as Chapman Leonard dollies.
METFILM SCHOOL CAMPUSES
MetFilm School has two campuses: London and Berlin. MetFilm School Berlin is based in a working film studio BUFA Studios, one of the oldest film studios in Europe.
In Berlin, we offer a wide variety of courses, including a 2-year BA Practical Filmmaking, and even some courses we don’t offer in London such as MA Documentary & Factual, Four-Week Creative Sound and an Eight- Week Directing course. All our courses are taught in English.
Berlin, home to 3.7 million people is a lively and exciting city. One of the most inexpensive capital cities in Europe, Berlin is now booming in more ways than one. With every fifth resident being international, it’s a city of great diversity and culture.
METFILM SCHOOL FAMILY
At MetFilm School we concentrate on employability right from the start. As a student you get access to our dedicated careers advice department, MetFilm Futures, who focus on supporting you and ensuring you develop the skills needed to succeed in the industry.
MetFilm Production is our in-house production company, focusing on creating high-quality fiction and documentary films. Releases include thriller documentary Last Breath, comedy Swimming With Men starring Rob Brydon and directed by Oliver Parker. MetFilm Production offers four graduate internships a year, and to date have employed more than 85 MetFilm School students and alumni on their films!
MetFilm School Smart Screen Creative Awards are our annual awards ceremony celebrating the ingenuity, passion and talent of our graduates and students. The awards celebrate a diverse array of projects from Metfilm School’s London and Berlin students, including short films, scripts and promotional work.
The awards have welcomed the likes of Noel Clarke, Sarah Gavron, Dara Nasr; Twitter UK Managing Director and Danny Murray; Vice President of Media, Digital and Marketing Partnerships at Warner Bros, as judges. As a BA student, you can submit projects from year one.
