About

ScottishPower is part of the Iberdrola Group, a global company and a world leader in wind energy. Our strategy is focussed on regulated network distribution, transmission and low carbon generation, including onshore and offshore wind.

Having invested £6.4 billion in the UK since 2007, we’ve modernised and improved our network and built the first offshore wind farm, the 389 megawatt West of Duddon Sands site located at Barrow off the Cumbrian coast.

Over the next decade, we aim to create up to 4,000 jobs equipping people with the skills they need for the future.

We are focused on creating a cleaner, more affordable and more secure energy supply for the UK. We can only do this if we have the right people working with us. Skills in the energy sector are in high demand so we’ve invested in growing our own talent.

As part of our investment we’ve created opportunities for our Craft and  Engineering Foundation Programmes. The Engineering Foundation Programme, in partnership with local colleges, blends technical training with studying at college, enabling you to get a kick start to your career.

On our Craft Apprentice programme you will study towards a nationally-recognised qualification, you’ll earn a good salary, develop new skills and gain invaluable knowledge and experience. During the programme, you’ll join our workforce, and while you’re helping them make a world of difference, you’ll have the opportunity to help your career in a number of ways too.
