Alima Khatun - IT Apprentice

Posted: 27th of March 2017 by jemma.davissmith@bcs.uk

My story as a female IT apprentice. 'Uni fees are very expensive, with an apprenticeship I get to learn and work at the same time. I enjoy practical work more and my colleagues made me feel comfortable here'

"I work in the web team and we take care of the website, edit pages, update information. I also cover social media, so we have a lot of enquiries from residents.
When I got the job here I remember I was really nervous, because I had never really had a job before this. I was afraid that I didn't really understand things here but my colleagues made it really easy.
IT is constantly evolving and I think it's the best career to get into."
