2019 Water Industry Apprenticeships

Job Title: Apprentice Water Operative

Salary: £5.50 per hour

Location: Nationwide

We are now recruiting for Level 2 Water Industry Apprentices based out of the following depots:

Anglian Water:

·       Northampton/Milton Keynes

South East Water

·       Tonbridge (Kent)

·       Aldershot (Hampshire)

Thames Water

·       Brixton (South London)

·       Dartford (Kent)

·       Datchet (Berkshire)

·       Highworth (Wiltshire)

·       Kidlington (Oxfordshire)

·       Hogsmill (Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey)

·       Godalming (Surrey)

 

Southern Water

·       Otterbourne (Hampshire)

·       Chatham (Kent)

·       Horsham (Sussex)

 

Sutton and East Surrey Water

·       Redhill (Surrey)

 

Our two year, Level 2 programme is achieved through work-based learning in a fast paced commercial business.  Apprentices will learn how to install, maintain and repair a range of services in the water sector through a combination of practical work whilst at the same time obtaining nationally recognised, industry relevant qualifications.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an assessment day/interview.

Training is delivered at Bridgwater College in Somerset and apprentices will attend on a block release basis.  Once you have completed your training you will achieve the following qualifications:

·       CABWI L2 Diploma in Network Construction Operations (Water)

·       CABWI L2 Diploma in Water Engineering (Network Construction Operations)

Skills, knowledge and experience required:

·       Can understand and follow instructions

·       Demonstrate motivation and enthusiasm

·       Can work as part of a team

·       Good communication skills

·       Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times

·       Can pay close attention to detail

·       GCSE D and above in Maths and English (preferred but not essential)

Please note this role will involve working outside in all weathers and as part of your college training, you will be required to stay away from home as well.
