What areas of our business do we offer degree level apprenticeships in?
Quantity surveying (London and Reading)
Quantity surveyors manage and lead the cost aspects of construction project while ensuring that quality standards and client needs are always met. They will also ensure that disputes are minimised and settled amicably. It's a numbers game so if you’re a numbers person, then this is the apprenticeship for you! You’ll be working alongside professionals with a wealth of industry experience which will enable you to constantly expand and broaden your knowledge. At the end of all your hard work, you’ll have a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying and an Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).
Civil engineering (Altrincham, Birmingham, Blackburn, Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, Croydon, Leeds, Manchester, Reading, Sheffield, Shifnal and York).
Learn how to design the world’s most epic structures. You never know, you could be involved in creating the next iconic bridge or developing one of the largest tunnels! Using programmes such as computer aided design and building information management, you’ll learn engineering principles and technics to help design and deliver infrastructure and buildings. At the end of all your hard work, you’ll have a BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering to show for it all.
Building services engineering (Birmingham and Bristol)
Learn how to take a building from an empty shell to a comfortable space in which to live and work. Building services engineers work to ensure that buildings are not only comfortable, but also safe and energy efficient. As part of the apprenticeship you will learn about different engineering principles including electrical, mechanical, plumbing and building management systems. At the end of all your hard work, you’ll have a BEng in Building Services Engineering.
Environmental practitioner (Cambridge and Southampton)
The environment needs protecting, and our environmental practitioners are the perfect people for the job. Join them and help protect the planet. You would be working on some of the UK’s most high-profile projects such as High Speed 2, Heathrow Expansion, and Crossrail 2.You will be able to develop your knowledge by being involved in site surveys, carrying out desk studies and learning about policy and legislation requirements affecting our projects. You will learn to model using digital bespoke modelling software, how to map environmental issues using GIS platforms and will help coordinate environmental impact assessments. At the end of all your hard work, you’ll have a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science.
GIS analysis (Croydon)
Do you have sharp observation skills and a digital mindset? Then put your talents to use to collect, analyse and manipulate geographical data with GIS technology.Our GIS Practice is growing globally, and joining this dynamic community, you can expect to work on a diverse range of projects from routing and design of new water pipelines, to national scale education improvement programs, or biodiversity action plans where global development demands meet ecosystem protection needs. At the end of your hard work you’ll receive a BSc in Surveying and Mapping Science.
Project management (Birmingham and London)
Join us and learn how to manage the projects of the future.You’ll be part of a team that controls every aspect of the project life-cycle – from concept and definition to implementation and handover. You’ll learn how to ensure our clients’ projects are delivered on time, within budget and at the highest quality. Our projects come in different sizes and complexities, so you’ll have the opportunity to gain a large amount of experience. At the end of your hard work you’ll have a BSc (Hons) in Project Management.
What you’ll need to apply
If everything above sounds great, take a look at what you’ll need to apply and get started:
You’ll need to have achieved or are expected to achieve 3 A level passes with grades A*-C or equivalent, one being in Maths, and another in a Physical science. Alternatively, a BTEC diploma in civil engineering.
You must have a Maths GCSE with grade 6 or B and above, of equivalent maths qualifications, as well as an English GCSE with grade 6 or B and above.
For Quantity Surveying, we will accept a Level 4 construction technician apprenticeship, or achieved (or are expected to achieve) a HND in construction or 3 A level passes with grades A*-C or equivalent.
For Environmental Practise and GIS, we will accept A Levels in Maths, Geography, Science or related subjects.

About our apprenticeships, is this the right route for you?
Interested in one of our apprenticeships but not entirely sure what it entails? Well, as an apprentice you’ll be right in the thick of all the action. It’s a great route into the industry. You’ll get the chance to expand your knowledge by attending university one day a week, while constantly discovering new and exciting things and learning from our industry experts on the job.
