A UNIQUE MIX OF LEARNING ABOUT BUSINESS, DEVELOPING KEY SKILLS AND PRACTICAL WORK EXPERIENCE.
The programme: is designed to prepare you for the transition from education into employment. It offers a foundation in the key aspects of business including sales, marketing, customer service, operations, HR, IT and finance. Vital employability skills such as communication, teamwork & critical thinking are developed and practiced. We also source work experience with local companies, giving you exposure to a variety of sectors and business leaders.
Participation: Ideal for both school leavers (post A level) and graduates as they transition from education into employment. It is also an option for ambitious gap year students who want to get ahead and make their year off worthwhile.
Content consists of 3 elements: knowledge, skills and experience.
- Knowledge: this consists of a range of learning units. These include developing yourself, communication skills, costs and budgets, solving problems and making decisions, understanding motivation and how to establish an effective team, negotiating and networking and customer service.
- Skills: practicing new skills through assignments and projects. There is lots of scope to try new things with feedback and coaching.
- Work Experience: the programme includes first hand work experience. TMA partner with local companies to give you exposure to businesses across a variety of sectors. This will typically be for one week at a time and wherever possible you will be paid for the work.
Format: It is both class based and in the field. The format is interactive with discussions and practical assignments. There is continuous feedback throughout the course, along with one to one coaching.
Qualification: On completion you will receive a level 3 ILM Award / Certificate in Leadership & Management, which is a nationally recognized qualification.
Timing: The next 3 month programme starts on January 2018. Structured learning will always be in the mornings, with the remainder of the day for projects and assignments.
Venue: Teaching will take place in Aynho (between Bicester & Banbury). We might from time to time use other venues.
