Play is recognised as the most essential part of children's development and is very dependent on the experiences and opportunities accessible to them. This therefore scaffolds their learning to enable them to reach their full potential.

Duties will include:

  • To work effectively with the college to complete your childcare qualification
  • To assist and work effectively as part of the nursery team
  • To adhere to Little Crickets learning Centre policies and procedures
  • To act as a positive role model
  • To accept and attain guidance from managers/senior staff
  • Actively manage your own health and safety on a daily basis highlighting and areas of concern to the health and safety co-ordinators
  • To act as a primary carer to a small group of children, taking responsibility for completing their daily diaries
  • Assist in monitoring children’s development by completing learning journeys, recording and recognising their on-going achievements.
  • To take part in parent meetings for primary children
  • Identify any behavioural needs and work together with coordinators/managers in managing this effectively
  • To continually reflect on your own development making use of training provided by Harrow College
  • To be aware of Ofsted Welfare requirements
  • To take an active part in assessing our setting and make suggestions to continentally make improvements
  • To actively take part in the planning system. Planning and organising age related activities including all children’s individual needs
  • To work in partnership with parents/carers always to provide the best outcomes for all children
  • To effectively communicate with staff, managers and other professionals
  • To actively take part in the supervision, staff meetings and the appraisal process
  • To report any safeguarding concerns to CP co-ordinator or managers
We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic apprentice to join our team as a Trainee Nursery Practitioner. We value our staff and understand the importance of training. You will need to have a love for the great outdoors as we spend a lot of time in the garden area exploring with the children.
