This is a two-year course for students interested in a career as an Artist, in a range of industries such as print, design and illustration. The course comprises of 13 units which are assessed through coursework. These units are presented to the students as a series of projects focusing on a wealth of skills within art and design. Aylesbury: This is a two-year course, equivalent to three A-levels, which will allow progression to University and the workplace. The course is split into two separate pathways: Graphics & Photography | Print & Mixed Media Each pathway has been designed to provide the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress to degree-level study in a variety of areas in art and design, or into employment. It provides an opportunity to explore, develop and test their creativity within a qualification structure that is stimulating and demanding and provides a supportive transition from further to higher education, an apprenticeship or a junior role in the creative industries. Aylesbury: Graphics & Photography - This pathway is designed for students who have an interest in the digital side of art and design. You will explore a variety of areas from graphic design, digital illustration to studio and location photography. You will use a variety of digital methods to experiment and develop ideas with. This is the perfect route for those looking to pursue a career in the creative & digital industries such as marketing, advertising, packaging and product design to commercial photography and fashion photography. Students will be shown the relevant skills required to progress into higher education or to start their respective careers within graphic design and photography. Aylesbury: Print & Mixed Media - This pathway is designed for students who have an interest in the more traditional aspects of art and design. You will develop a diverse portfolio of creative work involving printmaking and mixed media techniques. From screen-printing, illustration, textiles and 3D Sculpture, the course aims to develop you to become a whole creative who is able to produce work in a variety of creative mediums with the skills expected by future employers and higher education.
