What are the benefits when I finish AAT courses?

A newly qualified AAT member can expect to earn an average of £21,600. Some accounting technicians work as accounts clerks, others go on to become managing directors or finance directors of well-known companies. Some go to work as a self employed accountant as AAT allows the student to become Chartered.

About the course

The AAT Certificate in accounting training will equip you for various roles in an Accounting or Finance department. By the end of the course you will have a greater understanding of manual and computerised accounts and how to use them in a ‘real world’ setting.


We would expect this qualification to take 6 months to complete for most students.

Who is it for?

Those with little or no experience of accounting, who want to gain the practical skills required for an Accounting Clerk or Credit Controller role.

Course outcomes and career progression

Upon completion of the course you will be qualified for an Accounts Clerk or Supervisory level role in accounting, taking on more responsibility, earning a typical salary range of £21,500 – £31,965.

There is no minimum requirement for the course, anyone can join the course.
