Job Description:

You will be based in our office in Vassiliki on the beautiful Greek island of Lefkada and will manage all areas of accounting for our summer operations in Greece.  We run 3 beach clubs from 3 hotels in various locations around Greece.  This role will suit a confident, experienced accountant who can single-handedly run the accounts function, albeit with constant support from and liaison with the Head of Accounts in the UK.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Purchase ledger – processing invoices through Sage Line 50
  • Monthly bank reconciliations for 2 bank accounts
  • Petty cash – posting and reconciliation of approx. 10 petty cash floats
  • Identify split of invoices/receipts between Greek company and UK company
  • Regular trips to Lefkas Town (45 min drive) to meet with Greek Accountant to present Greek company receipts/invoices to him
  • Manage all online banking; supplier payments, taxes, monthly VAT & social charge payments and retrieve statements
  • To be a user and administrator of till/POS system in Vasiliki hotel
  • Develop existing system for recording local beach/merchandise sales
  • Weekly cashflow forecasting for funding requirements
  • Weekly KPIs – Bar sales & margin, beach sales, variable costs (breakfast, linen, cleaning)
  • Monthly reporting Vs budget for key cost areas (eg beach and hotel expenditure)
  • Assist UK Head of Accounts with seasonal Greece budget and end of season Management Accounts for the programme
