Vital Human Resources
Vital Human Resources is a new company operating under Morson Group. The business is a leading brand in the provision of skilled trades and contingent labour solutions to the rail, mechanical and electrical, construction and power markets in the UK. This complements the wider Morson Group offering.
This course is designed to enable students to gain qualifications to start a career as an administrator within an office environment. The qualification is credit based and allows flexibility to adapt to many different kinds of businesses choosing optional routes dependant on the job role.
The course will cover the following mandatory areas:
- Communication in a business environment
- Principles of providing administrative services
- Principles of business document production and information management
- Understand employer organisations
- Manage personal performance and development
- Develop working relationships with colleagues
You will then choose from a wide selection of optional units choosing from topics such as:
- Customer Relationships
- Digital Marketing
- Social Media
- Using Email Applications
- Word, Spreadsheet or Powerpoint Software
- Diary Management
- Administrative Support for meetings
- Greet and welcome visitors.
- Maths, English & ICT Level 1
ERR and PLTS
The candidate will learn about Employment Rights and Responsibilities and apply Personal Learning and Thinking Skills throughout their Apprenticeship.
Length of Course
The Apprenticeship lasts for a minimum of 12 months to ensure the candidate can demonstrate significant work experience alongside their professional qualifications.
The apprentice will attend college one day per month gaining training and knowledge to support the qualification. The rest of the qualification will be delivered in the workplace with the assessor visiting once every 4-6 weeks. If Functional Skills are required, weekly attendance will be required – booking in on one of the timetabled slots (am, pm or evening)
Increasingly recognised as the benchmark for high quality, work based training, apprenticeships are integrated learning programmes for people of all ages, combining on the job training and assessment with taught sessions to help develop knowledge and increase confidence.
The programmes we deliver combine additional life skills alongside the traditional 'framework' and aim to produce a more rounded, knowledgeable and employable individual, ready to enter today's ultra competitive work environment with optimum confidence.
Salford City College is committed to supporting and developing the skills of our apprentices, we provide each apprentices with a mentor to ensure that your training fits the exact requirements of both you and the business you work for. Mentors are on hand to help you face new challenges and overcome hurdles as training develops, whilst answering any questions you may have.

Previous experience within an office environment is desirable, work experience in some capacity essential.
- Good time management and an ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Able to work on own initiative whilst remaining part of the team.
- Flexibility. Busy periods may require longer working hours.
- Ability to work accurately and quickly following established processes and procedures, remaining calm under pressure.
The Wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training.

Individuals who already have a Level 4 qualification are now eligible for a Level 5 or above Higher Apprenticeship only. They are not eligible for funding for an Intermediate Level, Advanced Level or Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship.
As part of our apprenticeship recruitment process, you will be required to attend a Numeracy, Literacy and Interview Assessment at our Futureskills Campus on Dakota Avenue, Salford, M50 2PU. Should you be successful at this stage, we will then submit your application to the employer for further consideration.
