Malmesbury, Wiltshire, plus occasional offsite training in either Bristol or Reading
CSR at Dyson encompasses a variety of global projects to address the environmental impacts of our products, our operations (buildings, travel, cafes etc.) and our suppliers. An example would be changing offices and stores to renewable energy tariffs. As an ever-growing, global company you could also be involved with projects to enhance the well-being and education of employees, students and local communities, for example donating products and parts to a local children’s charity.
You can expect to be coordinating projects, researching current CSR and sustainability issues, managing events, updating CSR webpages, analysing and reporting on data trends and handling queries from both our employees and our customers. You’ll be trained by the experts initially – ready to own these responsibilities when your training is complete.
The apprenticeship training will be delivered by our trusted training provider, QA Ltd. You’ll work towards the City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration covering topics around:
- Principles of Business Communication & Information
- Environmental sustainability in a business environment
- Principles of Business
The apprenticeship will take around 15 months to complete and you’ll occasionally train offsite at one of QA's local centres in either Bristol or Reading. All other training will be delivered onsite at Dyson HQ in Malmesbury.
We assess each application on its merits, but typically we ask for a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade A*-C including English, Maths and Science. Ideally you will also have completed 2 A Levels or a BTEC (or equivalent) by October 2017, including a C or above in at least one Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM) subject, or Geography.
Above all, we're looking for people who demonstrate the drive, enthusiasm, self-motivation, teamwork skills and initiative required to thrive at Dyson. You’ll be a natural problem solver, well organised and have good time management skills. You’ll need to work by your own initiative with minimal supervision. Good written and verbal communication skills through a variety of channels, including documentation, face to face and over the phone, are a must.
An interest in physical geography, the environment, sustainability and technology would be desirable. It would also be useful to have a good working understanding of Microsoft Applications (including Powerpoint, Excel, Word) and the ability to travel if required.
All tuition fees will be paid by us and you’ll be provided with a Dyson laptop for work and apprenticeship-related study. You’ll receive a competitive salary as well as a profit-related bonus. We hold company-wide events throughout the year from Challenge Dyson competitions to the eagerly anticipated Dyson Christmas Party. We also have a relaxed dress code reflecting our engineering spirit. You’ll join an exciting team environment geared to creativity, innovation and ambition.Application closed
