Employer: Fletcher Partners

An excellent opportunity to gain experience in agriculture working with livestock. You will be trained to be a relief dairy stockman (a skill required around the world), operate and maintain agricultural machinery and be introduced to the management systems required to run an efficient farm. You will be working as part of an energetic team.


  • Moving cows and youngstock about the farm
  • Preparation for milking
  • Feeding calves
  • Mucking calf and cows beds out
  • Cleaning the dairy and machinery
  • Machinery maintenance
  • Fencing
  • Observing and assisting with veterinary/animal health tasks

Weekly wage: £161.50 - £209.00

Working week: Monday - Friday, 5 days a week - mostly working within the hours of 9.30am to 6pm. Must be prepared to start about 5.45pm occasionally. Occasional Saturday or Sunday being included (weekend work at a higher rate of pay and time off in the week).

Total hours per week: 38.00

Expected duration: 18 months

Possible start date: 12 Aug 2019

Desired skills: 

  • Some experience of cattle would help
  • A driving licence would be desirable but not essential
