The Claims, Standards and Insights team is the interface between Dyson’s engineers and its marketing team – it takes Dyson’s inventive technology and differentiates it by articulating compelling scientific proof. They’ve got privileged access to top secret developments in research and development and partner with engineers to ensure we develop world leading technologies.
As an Apprentice Project Manager – Claims, you can expect to be involved in a wide range of areas to support the Claims Managers in the team. You’ll be compiling evidence to support our claims, managing projects and budgets and liaising with the Marketing teams to advise on what they can and can’t say about a product.
The apprenticeship training will be delivered by our trusted training provider, QA Ltd. You will work towards achieving a level 4 Associate Project Manager apprenticeship, including qualifications such as PMQ, APM (IPMA Level D) and Agile Foundation.
The apprenticeship will take around 21 months to complete and you’ll occasionally train offsite at one of QA's local centres in either Bristol or Reading. All other training will be delivered onsite at Dyson HQ in Malmesbury.
You will study a variety of modules, including but not limited to:
- Principles of Project Management
- Agile Project Management Foundation
- Business Case and Investment Appraisal
- Planning, Risk and Quality
- Running and Managing the Project
We assess each application on its merits, but we ask for a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade A*-C including English, Maths and Science. You will also have completed 2 A Levels or a BTEC (or equivalent) by October 2017, including a C or above in at least one Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM) subject.
Above all, we're looking for people who demonstrate the drive, enthusiasm, self-motivation, teamwork skills and initiative required to thrive at Dyson. You’ll be a natural problem solver, well organised and have good time management skills. You’ll need to work by your own initiative with minimal supervision. Good written and verbal communication skills through a variety of channels, including documentation, face to face and over the phone, are a must.
Previous study of English at GCSE grade B or above and/or A-level English would also be beneficial.
All tuition fees will be paid by us and you’ll be provided with a Dyson laptop for work and apprenticeship-related study. You’ll receive a competitive salary as well as a profit-related bonus. We hold company-wide events throughout the year from Challenge Dyson competitions to the eagerly anticipated Dyson Christmas Party. We also have a relaxed dress code reflecting our engineering spirit. You’ll join an exciting team environment geared to creativity, innovation and ambition.Application closed
