A residential care home based in Leicester is looking for 10 Apprentice Support Workers to join their team of caring staff.

Age Range: 16-24

Hours: 30 Hours + (Shifts)

Salary: National Minimum Wage

Duties Will Include;

- Assist service users who require help with getting up in the morning, dressing, undressing, washing, bathing and the toilet
- Assist with mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including incontinence and help in use and care of aids and personal equipment
- To care for users who are dying
- To care for users who are temporarily sick and needing; minor dressings, bed nursing and help with feeding etc.
- Help promotion of mental and physical activity or service users through talking to them, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreations
- To make and change beds, tidy rooms, light cleaning and emptying commodes
- To inspect, launder and mend service users’ clothing
- To set tables and trays; serve meals; feed service users who require assistance, prepare light meals, wash up and tidy and clear the dining room
- Answer emergency bells, the door, telephone and greet visitors
- To read and write reports, take part in staff and service users’ meetings and in training activities as directed
- To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required
- To comply with the home guidelines and policies at all times
- To report to the home manager any significant changes in health or circumstances of a service user
- To encourage service users to remain as independent as possible

Person Spec Requirements;

- Sensitive to the needs of others and to the sick or infirm
- An active team player but also able to use own initiative
- Good communication skills

Due to the nature of this position if you are a successful candidate you will require a full DBS check which will be paid by the employer and the monies will be deducted from the candidate’s first 2 months pay.
