What you'll be doing

As a desk based engineer, you’ll be responsible for surveying,  planning, and recording, our network for fibre to the premises (FTTP),  fibre to the cabinet (FTTC) and copper products. This requires a keen eye for detail as you’ll learn about all aspects of our access and core network / infrastructure.  


Key aspects of the role will involve planning for our fibre network, creating detailed proposals and job packs for issue to field engineers, and redrawing of all external line plant  records,. You can also be carrying out site surveys when necessary.


This is a highly valued, multi-skilled role with opportunities to develop whilst contributing to the overall success of a well established team using a variety of skills and system based programmes.


Join this 30 month programme and you will have a range of placements that will give you the opportunity to either gain broad knowledge or specialise in a particular field if you prefer. You can shape your own future, whether it’s a management career path or a technical specialism, we will support you to find your feet and make a real impact in our business.


Entry requirements


A minimum of four GCSEs at grades 4 – 9 (GCSE C or above) including English Language and Maths.

A full driving licence with no more than six points
