Volunteer on our Care in Samoa project will provide disadvantaged children with much-needed love and attention, whilst also getting a chance to see the paradise beaches and crystal clear waters which Samoa has to offer.
As a volunteer you can choose to work in a kindergarten, special needs centre or victim support group in and around Apia, the capital and largest city in Samoa.
Working at a kindergarten, you will help the local teachers by assisting them with their rather large class of energetic 3+ year old children. It is a struggle for the teachers to give each child the attention they need and as a volunteer you can provide a helping hand by looking after and caring for the children, as well as playing games with them or teaching them songs.
In the special needs centres and the victims support groups you will be spending one-on-one time with a child and will focus on helping to boost their confidence and their progress in simple tasks which they have difficulties with.
You will need to bring with you a lot of patience; enthusiasm and a strong desire to help others and will then find this an extremely fulfilling and rewarding placement to take part in.
