You’ll need to have great attention to detail ensuring everything you do is within compliance guidelines. We encourage forward thinking to achieve innovative solutions which will gain rapid results for our customers.

You’ll be working to targets and also promoting our ground breaking products such as Smart metering, insurance services and our reward scheme for customers.

Everyone who contacts us needs us, and some of our customers are very vulnerable. As their point of contact, you’ll make a difference to their lives.  It’s a job with real purpose and satisfaction where your compassion for customers and your passion for providing great service will be all important. The role consists of customer contact through telephone, letter, email and SMS. If you’ve got outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including previous telephony experience, interpersonal skills and take pride in giving your best, our comprehensive training programme will give you further knowledge to deliver a first-class customer experience.

On top of a competitive salary, there’s a quarterly performance related bonus, pension, share schemes, 23 days paid holiday plus bank holidays, company discounts and a host of flexible benefits which can be tailored to suit your lifestyle - retail vouchers, gym membership and healthcare products to name a few. The office opening hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm, and Saturday 8am to 6pm.

In short, this role offers the opportunity to work with people who will inspire you. People who are genuinely enthusiastic about our values and people who share your high standards and passion to deliver outstanding customer service.

British Gas is a leading energy company and part of Centrica, a top 30 FTSE 100 company, so there will also be a wealth of opportunities for career progression.

It’s important that we do the right thing and we will carry out financial, criminal record and reference checks before you start working with us.
