An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with a global brand who specialise in cable management products for the electrical industry. You will be working in the fabrication manufacturing department and also in the design room supporting product design and manufacture.

Weekly wage: £172.00

Working week; Monday - Thursday, 7.30am - 4.30pm and Friday, 7.30am - 3.00pm

Total hours per week: 40.00

Expected duration: 18 months

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to learn a fully skilled trade working as an Apprentice for a Specialist Engineering Company.

Main Duties may include:

  • Produce Steel Fabrication designs using a CAD System in 2D and 3D
  • Specific marking out and preparation techniques
  • Different fabrication and joining techniques
  • Specific safe working practices, isolation procedures and safe reinstating of equipment/system that need to be observed
  • Shape the materials using the appropriate methods and techniques
  • Join the materials using the appropriate methods and techniques
  • Produce components which meet the specification requirements
  • Carryout quality checks during and after the fabrication activities
  • Re-engineer existing designs to meet requirements within budget
  • Produce detailed manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings and bills of materials
  • Produce a design which meets the requirements utilising Radan
  • Develop prototypes where necessary

Things to consider

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week)
