Working as part of the Brash Solutions IT Support team you will be joining a friendly, supportive and experienced team. Additionally, you will be joining us at an exciting point in our journey as we further expand our skill base to ensure that we continue to offer our clients the best solutions and services throughout the entire systems development lifecycle.
We are looking to expand our software support portfolio and are currently recruiting for a bright, friendly and enthusiastic apprentice with great communication skills to work in our offices in Berkhamsted. The successful candidate will work as part of the IT Support team, which involves working within a small team of experienced Support Technicians.
Our clients have a range of IT platforms and so we offer a wide range of services to cover all requirements. We work closely with each client, service partners and Third parties to provide the highest level of IT systems service and support.
We engage with our clients from the start of their software projects, helping with the planning, project management and development using various software platforms. Our projects are varied, such as changes to legacy applications, new Mobile Apps and we specialise in System Integrations. With the support of a nearshore development team, we cover all types of platforms, including, but not limited to, Microsoft .NET, Azure, Mobile Apps platforms (iOS and Android), PHP, WordPress, Firebase, DNN, React Native.
Alongside and complementing your apprenticeship training, you will be working to ensure the software is delivered to an excellent standard within our busy team, where quality and continuous delivery is the highest priority.
Main role / Responsibilities: [will include but not be limited to]:
- Troubleshooting issues and monitoring performance after project deployments
- DotNetNuke site management
- WordPress maintenance/development/cPanel hosting
- Working with WooCommerce sites both implementing new and maintaining existing sites
- Development of .net Job System
- Set up, from new, a software monitoring platform for our existing projects
- Editing Third Party reports using SQL and understanding databases
- API investigation projects
- Working with SQL databases
Your excellent communication, organisational, problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure will be as vital as your technical skills in this role. You will also take calls from our clients, assisting them with a wide variety of IT queries, troubleshoot problems and where possible, resolve the problem by talking users through solutions over the phone or using remote access tools to ensure fast resolution. If you are unable to resolve the problem, you will escalate with details of the steps taken so far and work with the support team to improve your understanding.
You must have a keen interest in computing as there will be the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of systems development and day-to-day IT support.

Salary: £16,000 - £18,000 Per Annum (DOE)
Level 3 Software apprenticeship, OR
A Level in a STEM* subject and successful completion of our Aptitude Test, OR
BTEC Diploma in IT and successful completion of our Aptitude Test, OR
2 years’ experience in a relevant role and successful completion of our Aptitude Test
92% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship. Additionally, there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programmes offer on-going development tracks.
QA’s apprenticeships are funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), an executive agency of the Department for Education.
