Salary - Circa £34,000 depending on experience and knowledge.

What will you be doing?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Drainage Engineer to join our Development Services Drainage team. The successful candidate will be working within a well established and experienced team. Much of your work will be office based and you will be responsible for ensuring that all new adoptable sewerage assets are designed in accordance with National Guidance (Sewers for Adoption) and Anglian Water standards. You will also be responsible for ensuring that our existing sewerage infrastructure is protected by assessing the suitability of applications to divert, build over and connect to the public sewerage system.
Building and maintaining customer relationships to consistently deliver excellent customer service will be a key responsibility of this role. You will be required to provide technical knowledge and guidance to internal and external customers, support innovative and sustainable solutions for drainage designs whilst keeping up-to-date with latest technology and products within the market.
What do you need?
You will ideally be educated to degree level in a relevant Engineering discipline, however, candidates that are training towards a relevant Engineering qualification will also be considered. You will ideally have experience of similar role within another Water Company or experience of working on the design of sewerage infrastructure. Knowledge of Sewers for Adoption, Sewerage Law and Health and Safety Legislation would also be beneficial.
You'll need to be an excellent team player with a strong customer focus who is able to act on your own initiative with good planning and organisational abilities. You'll also have excellent communication (written and oral) and decision making skills. You must be flexible in your approach to work and be able to adapt and challenge as well as managing a demanding and conflicting workload. With excellent numeracy / literacy skills you will also have the ability to understand new legislation and provide an effective service whilst balancing the needs of our customers alongside those of the business.
