We are looking to recruit Engineering Apprentices at our Confectionary manufacturing site in Sheffield. Successful candidates will set out on a journey that will ultimately lead to being a highly qualified and trained engineering Technician.               

As an Apprentice Engineering Technician you will be trained in the practical and theoretical aspects of maintaining our processing and packaging equipment.

This may include:-                  

  • Mechanical systems;
  • Electrical and process control systems;
  • PLC software applications;
  • Electro-mechanical design and solutions;
  • Electrical wiring, testing and installation;
  • Pneumatic systems;
  • Process instrumentation.

On successful completion of the four year programme you will be awarded an Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3).

Apprentice Weekly Wage


Apprentice Working Week

08.00 - 16.00 Monday to Friday in 1st year, 07:00 - 15:00 in 2nd & 3rd year.

Shift Pattern in Year 4 as part of a team of technicians.

40 hours per week.

Training to be provided

Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician SFA 146

BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing (Foundation Competence) (Practical training for Mechanical and Electrical maintenance)

Expected duration of apprenticeship

48 months

Future Prospects for the candidate

Possibility of becoming an engineering Technician in various departments throughout the business.

Personal Qualities

You must be willing to learn, keen to get your hands dirty and have a passion to understand how things work to develop into a maintenance engineer of the future.
