Finance Apprentice – New College Stamford – Stamford

Vacancy description

  • Cash Handling.
  • Accounting for revenue streams such as cash, bacs etc.
  • Monthly petty cash reconciliations
  • Completion of weekly Cash/Credit Card/Cash reconciliations.
  • Bank Receipt Postings.
  • Work within the Finance Office assisting with clerical and administrative duties as required, including word processing and the update of information databases.
  • Provide general admin support to high standard of accuracy and presentation.
  • Answer and direct telephone enquiries.
  • Produce letters, memos, reports and other correspondence using a range of MS Office IT packages.
  • Maintain documents, files and records, including maintenance of archiving.
  • Assisting with the matching of Goods received notes with Purchase invoices
  • Assisting with the Processing of Purchase invoices and credit notes; reconciling with supplier statements.
  • Monitor, purchase and store stationary.
  • Undertake general administrative duties as required by the Finance Team Leader.
  • Assist with College enrolment, promotional events, induction and open evenings as required (which will entail occasional evening attendance, for which time off in lieu will be agreed)
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • Conform with the Health and Safety requirements relevant.
  • Provide occasional administrative support for other departments.
  • Any other duties, which may reasonably be regarded as commensurate with the responsibilities of the post.

  • Relevant work experience in administration

  • Good working knowledge and demonstrable competence of word-processing, spreadsheets and databases

Desired qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs A-C Grade or equivalent qualifications (must include maths and English)

Future prospects

Potential Full Time employment or progression onto Level 3 Apprenticeship.

Training to be provided

  • Level 2 or 3Diploma in Business Administration
  • Employee Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)
  • Functional Skills (maths, English andICT) as required
