Join us on our Fire & Security Systems Design Apprenticeships and you can figure out how we can install and maintain our products across a range of different locations. Survey areas to find the best ways to install our products to ensure they’re efficient and accessible. By the end of our programme, you’ll have the skills and experience needed to qualify as a Fire or Security System Designer!
While on this apprenticeship, you will work towards a Level 3 Fire Emergency & Security Systems Technician apprenticeship. We will release you from work for 1 week every 6 weeks to ensure you stay on top of your studying. These sessions may be based away from home, which would include overnight stays. Where this is the case, we will cover all accommodation costs to ensure there is no cost to you.
What your day will look like...
System Designers are the ones that find ways to make our solutions work in a variety of different environments. One day, you could be meeting with clients to understand their needs and the next, completing site surveys in order to complete work. Other responsibilities you could take on include:
- Undertaking security and fire design surveys and associated design work as required
- Providing guidance to sales teams on systems design and equipment selection.
- Assisting engineers on maintenance and installation projects to learn about the different environments, problems and solutions
- Collaborating with designers to meet clients and survey buildings to map out drawings and design solutions
The type of person we’re looking for...
Everything you do in this role is with the benefit it will have on our customers in mind. You’ll need to be a great communicator, with the wider business and clients, as well as have a positive mentality in all situations. Working as part of a team should come naturally to candidates applying for this role too. Candidates should also have a minimum of GCSE grade 4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent) as well as a Level 3 Qualification in an engineering subject. Knowledge of an architectural drawing (CAD) package would be an advantage. A full driving licence is also desirable as you may be required to travel regularly. Other skills we’re keen to see include:
